NEW DELHI: Receivables Exchange of India Ltd (RXIL), leading invoice discounting platform for MSMEs, on Tuesday said it has crossed monthly transaction volumes of Rs 1,000 crore in the month of March.
The growth of transaction volumes from Rs 69 crore in April 2020, to Rs 1,105 crore in March 2021 indicates the revival and resumption of the economic activity, RXIL said in a statement. ....

Sidbi: Sidbi extends validity of SCRF to facilitate free onboarding on TReDS

A total of 6,545 MSMEs have been given free onboarding facility on TReDS through RXIL, M1xchange and Invoicemart so far.

TReDS is an electronic platform where receivables of MSMEs drawn against buyers are financed through multiple financiers at competitive rates through an auction mechanism.
MUMBAI: MSME lender Sidbi has extended the validity of Swavalamban Crisis Responsive Fund (SCRF) to facilitate free onboarding of more Micro, Small and Medium Enterprises (MSMEs).
According to Sidbi officials the plan is to onboard over 13,500 MSMEs by March 31, 2021 as against the earlier envisaged 10,000. The last date of drawdown of the fund will now be upto May 31, 2021, they said. ....

The Reserve Bank of India is weighing the possibility of allowing financiers on the Trade Receivables Discounting System (TReDS) to take trade credit insurance (TCI).
This insurance cover can protect financiers Banks, Non-Banking Finance Companies- Factors, and other financial institutions on TReDS platform against the risk of default when they finance/discount trade receivables of Micro, Small and Medium Enterprises (MSMEs).
TCI, if allowed, can help financiers on TReDs to minimise bad debts and reduce provisions, thereby supporting their bottomline.
The current regulations do not allow financiers to take TCI as the expectation is that their financing activity should be solely based on their credit appraisal and not on insurance. ....
