UK physically unclonable function is quantum based
Crypto Quantique is a London company created to licencing technology that provide end-to-end encrypted security for embedded systems.
Its products include a hardware root-of-trust, which has already been licenced to a “a big semiconductor company for a high-end MCU”, according to company co-founder and CEO Shahram Mossayebi (
pictured).
Mossayebi should know about security: he has an MSc in information security and a PhD in post-quantum cryptography from the University of London.
The root-of-trust is a physically unclonable function (PUF) called QDID, and its other product is QuarkLink, a server-based IoT security programme that handles firmware and cryptographic key provisioning, over-the-air firmware updates, certification and key management. QDID and QuarkLink can be used together, or separately with third-party products. ....

A Media Literacy Development Board aimed at ensuring citizens have advanced media literacy skills, has been appointed.
The board will fall under the powers of the Broadcasting Law Act and will be composed of a number of media experts.
In consultation with the Broadcasting Authority and other governmental entities, the board has the task of drawing up a plan, promoting and taking any measures to ensure the development of literacy skills in the media field. ....

Gozo cathedral's Holy Relics Chapel restoration

The painting, gilding and floodlighting of the Holy Relics chapel at the Gozo Cathedral is nearing completion. Paul Camilleri-Cauchi has concluded the painting of the chapel’s dome, lunette and pendentives which depict the salient moments of the history of the cathedral and the most important prelates that served at the cathedral in the past six centuries.
Ruben Farrugia (pictured), a member of the parish, is currently working on the gilding of the lower frieze. Farrugia learned the art of gilding from his father Pawlu. The gilding of the upper part of the chapel has been concluded and Farrugia is now giving the final touches to the horizontal sculpted frieze running around the chapel. ....
