PFUJ rallies condemn Israeli atrocities, attack on media in Palestine

ISLAMABAD/LAHORE: Speakers, representing journalists bodies and civil society at rallies on a call by Pakistan Federal Union of Journalist (PFUJ), has strongly condemned Israeli terrorism and atrocities against Palestinian and bombing on civilian residential centres and media houses and urged international community and United Nations (UN) to immediately intervene to stop Israeli aggression and terrorism on Palestinians, says a press release on Tuesday.
Protest rallies were arranged by all the union of journalists in Islamabad, Peshawar, Quetta, Lahore, apart from Faisalabad, Bahawalpur, Sukkur, Abbottabad, Rahimyar Khan, Gujranwala, Multan which were widely attended by journalists, representative of civil society lawyers people from different walks of life and termed Israeli brutalities as inhuman and act of barbarism and terrorism. ....

A Central Hawke s Bay community has rallied after an elderly local man lost his wife in a fatal car crash.
Kay Seaton, of coastal Pourerere, died after the couple s car crashed into a ditch in Ōtāne on Friday.
Emergency services were called to the single-vehicle accident on Elsthorpe Rd about 3.20pm, where Kay and husband Trev were initially trapped in their vehicle before being freed. ....

Cancer is a horrible thing for your child to get.
Those are the words of Matapihi mum Rebecca Ngatai-Henry after watching her 14-year-old daughter fight cancer for more than four months.
In December, Innocence Henry
described by her mum as strong and caring with a love of baking was diagnosed with Ewing s sarcoma, a rare type of cancer that occurs in bones or the surrounding soft tissue.
Since January, the teenager has had fortnightly chemotherapy treatments at Starship Children s Hospital in Auckland. Last month one of her toes was amputated in a bid to arrest the disease. ....
