Wheel locks applied on 192 vehicles over accumulated parking fines in Sharjah

Sharjah: Sharjah Municipality has applied the lock on 192 vehicles over the past three months over unpaid fines and expired vehicle registrations, Ali Ahmad Abu Gazien, Director of Public Parking Department at Sharjah Municipality, told
Gulf News. Abu Gazien explained that since the beginning of last year, the municipality had implemented the system of locking vehicles with accumulated fines of Dh3,000 and above and with expired vehicle registration beyond one month.
These locks were placed on the vehicles and notifications sent to the respective owners. In addition, a sticker was placed on these vehicle, indicating the nature of violation and the accumulated fines, along with a warning that the vehicle would be towed away after 48 hours and taken to the municipality’s impoundment yard in case the fines were not cleared and the registration not renewed. ....

Eid Al Fitr 2021: Free parking in Sharjah

Sharjah: Sharjah City Municipality has announced that all public parking spaces across the city will be free of charge from Shawwal 1 to Shawwal 3 on the occasion of Eid Al Fitr holiday.
The decision excludes the paid parking spaces in the following zones Al Hisn Street (Bank Complex) in Al Shuwaiheen and Al Shoyoukh areas, Corniche Street (both sides) in Al Shuwaiheen area, Qays Ibn Abi Sa’sa’ah Street (Bird Market) in Al Jubail, Central Souq parking spaces in Al Majaz, and Corniche Street (Khalid Lagoon side) in Al Majaz 1, 2 & 3 and University City Road Muwaileh Commercial Area
The municipality urged all motorists to use parking spaces properly during the holiday to avoid fines. ....

UAE: Free parking provided to over 1,100 residents

Each family will be granted only one subscription for one elderly beneficiary.
Sharjah has provided 1,146 free public parking subscriptions for senior citizens across the emirate since the initiative was launched on January 19, an official revealed.
Under the Sharjah Municipality initiative, the elderly are exempt from parking fees at public parking slots through free annual subscriptions.
The elderly can subscribe to the service via the municipality website or by visiting the Public Parking Department in Sharjah.
Ali Ahmed Abu Ghazin, Director of the Public Parking Department, said that to subscribe to the service, applicants must be a resident of the emirate and above 60 years in age. They can park in any public parking slots except those reserved for persons with disabilities or for commercial establishments. ....

Sharjah Municipality to provide free public parking for the elderly from January 19

Sharjah: Sharjah Municipality announced on Sunday a free parking facility for senior citizens across the emirate. The service will come into effect from January 19.
The new initiative is based on the visions and directives of His Highness Dr Sheikh Dr Sultan bin Mohammad Al Qasimi, Member of the Supreme Council and Ruler of Sharjah. It aims to cater to the needs of the elderly, Sharjah City Municipality announced. The municipality further said that the elderly in Sharjah will be exempted from public parking fees and will be provided with free annual subscriptions that will allow them to park in all city public parking areas at all times. Through this initiative, the municipality aims to provide the elderly with means of comfort, considering that public parking is one of the most important services needed by anyone driving within the city. ....
