Patna (Bihar) [India], February 21 (ANI): Bihar Chief Minister Nitish Kumar on Sunday said that it will be good if a single rate policy for electricity is adopted for the entire nation as it will benefit states like Bihar which gets power at a higher rate as compared to several others.
Speaking to media in Patna, Kumar said, In yesterday s NITI Aayog governing council meeting, we raised questions about electricity. If everyone pays (rate of electricity supplied by Centre to states) the same for electricity across the country, it would be good. As of now, we pay more than others.

Patna (Bihar) [India], February 3 (ANI): The new directive of the Nitish Kumar-led government in Bihar, which stops people from protesting against the ruling party, is against the Indian Constitution, said Rashtriya Janata Dal (RJD) leader Shivanand Tiwari, adding that the Bihar government is trying to snatch away the democratic rights of the people.
Speaking to ANI, Tiwari said, Through this new directive, the Nitish government is trying to say that if anyone protests against the ruling party then they will not get government jobs.

Patna (Bihar) [India], February 3 (ANI): Bihar s Additional Director General of Police (ADG) Jitendra Kumar on Wednesday clarified that the new directive of denying government jobs to protesters means that repercussions may include no government jobs or tenders but the decision will not be taken by the police.
He added that the police will provide information only it is the employer s decision to hire the individual or not.
Speaking to ANI, Kumar said, I want to clarify that this new circular of Bihar police is in relation with character verification report, in regard to this we have added that if a person is involved in criminal activity and there is a record of it, we should mark it in their character verification report.

The Bihar Police has issued a circular stating those indulging in criminal activities or carrying out road blockages during protests will be barred from getting government jobs. The Bihar Police said the charges will be categorically mentioned in the person s character verification report by the police. If any person indulges in any criminal activity by involving in any law and order situation, protests or road blockage and is charged for this, then it should be categorically mentioned in the person s character verification report by the police. Such people should be prepared for serious consequences as they won t be able to get government jobs or state-owned liquor outlets, ANI quoted Bihar Police as saying.
