SA prisoners acheive 86.3% in matric exams, top candidate from KZN

They achieved a pass rate of 86.3% - an increase of 3.7 percentage points from the previous year. 
Justice and Correctional Services says the top learner was from KZN with an average mark of 80.6%. 
SAPOHR s Golden Miles Bhudu says this is a significant achievement. Those seeking employment after their release still face challenges. 
We are calling on the Justice and Correctional Services department, now that they are merged. They must both work very hard together to revisit this issue of previous criminal records.
