Montreal Teague worked out a beauty of a trip for Goldberg in Thursday’s $20,000 Open Handicap for pacers at Dover Downs, and the Clyde Francis trainee rewarded his crew with an upset score to the tune of 16-1. Goldberg landed in the two-hole behind Bo Mach who carved out fractions of :27, :56.1 and 1:23. JJ Flynn put first-over pressure on the leader on the way to the three-quarter pole before fading. Race favourite Solid Gold N kicked off cover late, but it was Goldberg who got clearance in the lane and used a :26.4 final frame to win by a head over pacesetting Bo Mach in 1:50.1. The three-year-old Banker Volo gelding, who notched his eleventh lifetime triumph, was all systems “go” for driver Marcus Miller and the partnership of Harmon Racing Stable LLC, Lawrence Kittenplan and Winners Circle Racing LLC. The other Harmon winner was the Trixton sophomore filly Alyvia Deo, who brushed from fifth to first during the second quarter and went on nicely to win in 1:57 for driver Tim Tetrick and Synerco Ventures Inc. ....
