New Pokemon Go Research Event Announced Niantic announced the next Pokemon Go Research Event this week and revealed that the May event will focus on Marill. The Water and Fairy-type Pokemon will be findable through a series of Timed Research tasks that may lead to people being able to catch a Shiny version of the Pokemon. Like the other Timed Research events, however, this one’s only going to be live for a couple of hours during one day of the month. That day is May 9th, and the event will be live from 8 a.m. to 10 p.m. for players to complete their tasks and better their chances at finding a Marill or two. The Pokemon will be appearing more often anyways on that day, but if you’re completing your Field Research tasks, you’re guaranteed an encounter.
Taking place in the middle of July, this year’s “global event” will span across two days and celebrate some of the game and anime franchise’s important milestones. “2021 marks both the twenty-fifth anniversary of Pokémon and the fifth anniversary of Pokémon GO, so trust us when we say you won’t want to miss Pokémon GO Fest 2021,” the developer’s blog post reads. Other details remain scarce at this point, and there’s no mention of whether it’ll once again be virtual due to the ongoing Coronavirus pandemic, but if 2020’s event was any indication, fans can rest assured that the festival will still be a fantastic experience. Last year, Niantic said that “a record number of millions of trainers” across 124 countries participated, capturing close to a billion pokémon together with each player walking an incredible 15km on average.
Pokemon Go Fest 2021 has been scheduled for July 17 and July 18. The event will be held virtually on a global scale, akin to the 2020 edition of the fest.

Pokemon Go Will Add Xerneas, Goodra, and More Pokemon in Next Event Pokemon Go will be adding several Dragon-type and Fairy-type Pokemon in its first major May event. Earlier today, Pokemon Go announced its Luminous Legends X event, which will kick off on May 4th. The event will feature the addition of eight new Pokemon from Pokemon X and Y, along with a brand new kind of lure. Notably, the event marks the debut of Xerneas, the Fairy-type Legendary Pokemon that serves as the mascot of Pokemon X, as a brand new 5-Star Raid boss. Other Pokemon making their debut during the event includes Spritzee, Swirlix, and Goomy and their respective evolutions. Nottably, Goomy's evolved form Sliggoo can only evolve into Goodra during rainy weather or while in the presence of a Rainy Lure Module, a brand new module also making its debut during the event.
Pokemon Sword and Shield Leak Ignites Speculation of Third DLC Releasing This Year Pokemon Sword and Pokemon Shield about to get more DLC in 2021? At first glance, this is a borderline absurd suggestion, but it's speculation that the Pokemon community finds itself trying to navigate after an old, and so far, accurate leak resurfaced online. Back in February 2020, a 4chan leak about Pokemon Sword and Pokemon Shield popped up and nobody paid attention to it because of not only the source but because of the claims it made. However, the leak is slowly coming true, which in turn has Pokemon fans looking it over again.

(Photo : Reddit via r/TheSILPHRoad) Everybody has the chance to catch Shiny Grimer in "Pokemon GO" and the good thing here is that it would be available almost anywhere, as long as users go out and drive around. However, if they cannot go out during this time of night, they can always use a location spoofer to venture and catch Shiny Grimer in the map. What is more iconic in this spotlight hour is that "Shiny" Grimer has an increased chance of spawning in the wild and populated places as trainers go around and search for it. But not an increased chance of spawning the Pokemon itself.
Team Rocket Has Disappeared From Pokemon Go Pokemon Go has been without its version of Team Rocket for over a week, frustrating players who are trying to level up. Team Go Rocket has been a focal point of Pokemon Go gameplay for several years, with various Grunts and Team Admins regularly taking over Poke Stops and pestering players from hot air balloons. While the core gameplay of these encounters hasn't changed much since their initial appearance in 2019, Pokemon Go has regularly added new Shadow Pokemon for players to rescue and thrown other minor wrinkles to give players some extra variety when facing down these villainous NPCs.
