The traffic department spokesman had Wednesday night advised people not to undertake a journey on the Srinagar-Jammu highway without confirming the status of the road from Traffic Control Units (TCUs) in view of inclement weather prediction issued by the Meteorological department.
However, he said that in case of fair weather and better road condition Light Motor Vehicle (LMVs) carrying passengers will be allowed to move from Jammu to Srinagar. Later, Heavy Motor Vehicles (HMVs) would be allowed from Jekheni Udhampur from 1400 hrs to 2400 hrs. ....

Traffic Movement Suspended On Srinagar-Jammu Highway After Landslides
Traffic authorities while speaking to the news agency KNO said due to landslides at Marog the traffic movement has been suspended temporarily on the highway.
Officials said that the efforts are afoot to ensure early restoration of traffic as the agencies concerned have pressed men and machinery on a job to clear the vital road.
As per the traffic plan for today authorities had allowed traffic movement from Srinagar towards Jammu.
Meanwhile, traffic police have appealed to the people to strictly follow the timely advisories and to contact Traffic Control Units (TCUs) at Srinagar, Jammu and Ramban before starting their journey on the highway. ....
