Council is aware that there is a lot of misinformation around about how we are managing our roads program in Wollondilly.
We’d like to clarify some important points:
We know we need to keep improving our roads. It is a huge focus for the team – both in terms of budget and resources. In light of the recent storm event, we are accelerating $4m of road reconstructions in the next 4 months with an additional $1.2m for immediate maintenance and repair. Some roads we are focusing on include Finns Road, Remembrance Driveway and Werombi and Woodbridge Roads.
All the funds from the 2015/16 SRV have gone to our Major Road and Infrastructure Program, which we report to IPART annually. It has delivered in excess of 350 road works projects (excluding maintenance and small surface repairs). This is our yearly capital budget for roads and the SRV funding, which have been invested into our infrastructure (i.e. roads) ....
