In the press release announcing the availability of the Porsche 911 Targa 4S Heritage Design Edition in Malaysia, Sime Darby Auto Performance (SDAP) revealed that Malaysia will soon have its first Porsche Classic Partner Centre. It will be in JB, opening end 2021.
“Porsche Centre Johor Bahru will be the first Classic Partner Centre in Malaysia and is scheduled for launch at the end of this year. Porsche Asia Pacific Delivers Record Breaking Q1 Thanks To Its Electrification Drive
Apr 27, 2021
Things are looking up for Porsche’s electrification drive as Porsche Asia Pacific (PAP) recorded its best ever first quarter just recently.  In Q1 of 2021, PAP delivered 827 sports cars which represents a 28% growth compared to the previous year.
Nearly half (47%) of the Porsches delivered were either battery electric vehicles (BEV) or plug-in hybrid electric vehicles (PHEV). This puts the company on the fast track to realise its global ambition to have half of all its new vehicle sales by 2025 consist of electrified vehicles (full electric or hybrid). Of the electrified cars delivered to customers, 150 units (about a fifth of total deliveries) were the first deliveries of the all-electric Taycan. ....

Porsche Asia Pacific achieves best Q1 results in 2021: 28% growth, 827 cars delivered - 47% EVs and PHEVs

Porsche Asia Pacific (PAP) has just announced its Q1 2021 sales results. In the first three months of the year, Porsche delivered 827 sports cars, charting a growth of 28% over the same period last year.
According to its press statement, electrification was a crucial driver for the quarter – approximately 47% of all cars delivered were either battery electric vehicles (BEVs) or plug-in hybrids. This puts the automaker close to its 2025 goal, which is to have half of all new Porsche vehicles sold to be electrified models.
Besides New Zealand, the top markets for Porsche were Thailand, Singapore, and Malaysia. “The ASEAN countries will remain a key focus area for Porsche,” it said in the statement. This perhaps foreshadows its plans to set up a local assembly plant in Malaysia, though it’s unclear at this point which models – besides the rumoured Macan and Cayenne – will be CKD. ....
