Not-so-special delivery: how to claim for late post

If your post hasn’t turned up, you may be entitled to claim.

If you have experienced Royal Mail delays you may be able to claim for compensation. Letters and parcels sent by special delivery should arrive on a specific day, while first-class post should arrive the next working day after it is sent, and second-class post within three working days.
Compensation for delays kicks in when your post is three or more working days late, or 24 hours late if it was sent by special delivery. You can lodge a compensation claim for lost post 10 working days after it was due to arrive, or five days for special delivery. ....

Fury after Royal Mail removes postbox in Stinchcombe

The Oldhill Lane postbox was spotted with its pole bent almost to the ground back in February.
Mindful of the problems getting another Stinchcombe postbox replaced a couple of years ago, Marian Shaw, chairman of the parish council made her own arrangements to have the pole repaired.
But the box was removed by Royal Mail before the repairs could be carried out.
With the box still missing three months later, resident Mandy Delafield liaised with Royal Mail on the matter, only to learn in late August that they no longer intended to replace the box.
Parish councillors, district councillors and MP Siobhan Baillie added their voices in support of residents and district councillor Catherine Braun took the matter to a Postal Review Panel, insisting on an explanation. ....
