How Bolton College is continuing to teach during the pandemic

BOLTON College is ensuring its students and the wider community continue to learn through the pandemic.
The college, part of the University of Bolton Group, has helped students overcome barriers so they are not left behind while putting on free courses for the community and putting together special e-magazines full of tips to help people through these challenging times.
Unable to invite Year 11s into campus for its annual Open Event, the college understood the necessity for young people to have access to resources that will help them make informed decisions about their future.
They therefore created a Virtual Open Event, containing over 40 videos. These include a whistle stop campus tour, as well as videos for all curriculum areas, with information on all of the Study Programmes and Apprenticeships on offer for the new academic year. ....

Bolton College cancels January BTEC exams due to coronavirus

Bolton College has cancelled it s BTEC exams due to take place this month due to the coronavirus lockdown.
On Tuesday evening the Department for Education announced that schools and colleges could continue with the January exams for vocational courses “where they judge it right to do so”.
However, the Principal of Bolton College, Bill Webster said he felt with the rising coronavirus infection rate and the new national lockdown that cancelling these exams was the best decision for the students.
He said: We took the decision straight away on hearing the lockdown news that the college would cancel the exams. ....
