At least 12 COVID-19 patients have died in a fire that broke out in an Indian hospital early Saturday morning, local time. A similar blaze ripped through another Indian hospital over the last week.
The most recent fire occurred at 1 a.m. on Saturday on the ground floor of Welfare Hospital, according to NDTV. The hospital is a four-story COVID-19 facility located in Bharuch, a city located in the western state of Gujarat.
At least 12 patients died due to the flames and resulting smoke. An additional 50 patients were rescued by locals and firefighters. The surviving patients were relocated to other nearby hospitals for continued care. ....

Thane: Four patients died after a fire broke out at a private hospital in Mumbra on Wednesday midnight. Around 20 patients were rescued and evacuated to nearby hospitals. Local sources alleged the hospital located on the first floor of a residential building was without a fire audit.
According to the regional disaster management, the fire broke out at 3:40am at Prime criticare hospital on the first floor of Hasan Tower, at Shimla park on old Mumbai-Pune road, Kausa Mumbra.

Four patients died after a fire broke out at a private hospital near Thane in Indian Maharashtra in the wee hours of Wednesday, a civic official said.
The patients died while being shifted to other hospitals after the blaze and not due to burns, the official said. They may have inhaled smoke after the fire, he added.
The incident comes five days after 15 coronavirus patients died in a blaze in the intensive care unit of a private hospital at Virar in the adjoining Palghar district.
Wednesday’s fire broke out at the Prime Criticare Hospital at Kausa-Mumbra locality at 3.40 am, the official said. There were no coronavirus patients in the hospital, he added. ....

THANE: At least three patients died in a fire at a private hospital near Thane in the wee hours of Wednesday, an official said.
The fire broke out at the Prime Criticare Hospital at Kausa in Mumbra locality near Thane at 3.40am.
There were no coronavirus patients in the hospital, he added.
Three fire engines and five ambulances were rushed to the spot and the blaze has been extinguished, the official said.
Twenty patients including six in the intensive care unit were evacuated, he said.
Local MLA and Maharashtra minister Jitendra Awhad said that at least three persons were roasted alive in the fire that destroyed the first floor of the hospital. ....

THANE: At least four persons, including a senior citizen, were killed when a massive fire engulfed the Prime Criticare Hospital at Kausa in Mumbra town in Maharashtra’s Thane district on Wednesday morning.
The deceased have been identified as - Yasmeen Z. Sayyed, 46, Nawab M Shaikh, 47, Halima B. Salmani, 70, and one Sonawane.
More than 20 patients in different wards were evacuated safely, according to Thane Police and Fire Brigade officials.
