'Bullied' student dies in apparent suicide

A student at National Chengchi University jumped from the roof of his apartment in the early hours of Sunday after he was allegedly bullied online.
The 21-year-old student, surnamed Huang (黃), on Friday last week posted on the university’s online discussion forum asking the public to judge a dispute he was having with a female roommate about rent.

The Food and Drug Administration on Sunday said that it has approved the use of an artificial intelligence (AI) system that helps doctors scan chest X-rays to more quickly detect COVID-19 infections.
The diagnostic system was jointly developed by the start-up Taiwan Medical Imaging Co and some medical institutions, agency official Wu Ting-yao (吳亭瑤) said.
The start-up is owned by Tu Yi-chin (杜奕瑾), the founder of Taiwan AI Labs and Professional Technology Temple, the nation’s largest electronic bulletin board, Wu said.
The AI system can be used alongside polymerase chain reaction and rapid antigen tests as a fast diagnostic tool to detect COVID-19 by pinpointing a chest infection in an X-ray image, he said. ....

COVID-19: CECC revokes Kinmen testing order, fake news spreads

The Central Epidemic Command Center (CECC) yesterday revoked an order by the Kinmen County Government demanding that all visitors arriving by plane had to provide a negative polymerase chain reaction (PCR) test for COVID-19 within three days of their flight, or take a rapid antigen test upon arrival at the airport.
The center issued a news release at midnight yesterday, stating that it had revoked a proclamation issued by the Kinmen County Government on Sunday ordering “all aircraft passengers arriving at Kinmen to cooperate with its contact information registration and take a rapid COVID-19 test, starting from May 24.” ....
