Professor Dr Md Hasibur Rashid of Management Information Systems Department of Dhaka University has been appointed vice-chancellor (VC) of Begum Rokeya University, Rangpur (BRUR) for four years.
Professor Hasibur, who has been currently serving as the BRUR treasurer, will replace Prof Nazmul Ahsan Kalimullah, who completed his tenure on May 31. ....

After joining as the vice-chancellor of Begum Rokeya University in Rangpur three years and eight months ago, Prof Nazmul Ahsan Kalimullah went to the campus on only 237 days, a section of the university teachers claimed.
He never stayed on the campus an entire day. Sometimes, he would stay for a couple of hours, they said in a 790-page white paper .
Unveiling the paper at a press conference on the campus yesterday, teachers body Odhikar Surokkha Parishad said the VC holds the post of chief of the sociology department and the post of dean in social science faculty, which is highly unusual. ....

Prof Nazmul Ahsan Kalimullah, the vice-chancellor of Begum Rokeya University, Rangpur (BRUR) was declared persona non grata on campus today after he held a press conference in Dhaka.
The faculty members of the university announced the decision during a press conference at the university.
The VC in his press conference lied and made ugly remarks about important personalities of the state including the education minister, claimed the faculty members.
Vice-Chancellor Nazmul Ahsan Kalimullah disobeyed the president s directive and remained absent on campus. He also covered up admission test fraud and is involved in corruption and irregularities in recruitment of staff members and teachers, violating University Grants Commission s (UGC) directives ....
