Hong Kong: Care home virus control scheme set The Social Welfare Department today launched a time-limited programme to help around 1,100 residential care homes for the elderly and residential care homes for the disabled to enhance their infection control and improve their ventilation. Lasting for 12 months, the programme aims to minimise the risks of virus spreading in residential care homes. Under the programme, nurses will be arranged to conduct at least four sessions of on-site assessment and provide training on infection control for residential care home staff. Technical personnel will also be arranged to conduct on-site ventilation assessments for residential care homes and make recommendations on ventilation improvement.
