Cops, medics and prison guards to get easier access to compensation for PTSD

Emergency workers suffering from post-traumatic stress disorder can access compensation faster and easier in Queensland under laws passed on Wednesday.
Frontline workers including police officers, firefighters, child safety and youth justice officers, State Emergency Service volunteers, prison officers, mine rescue teams, emergency doctors and nurses, and paramedics would no longer have to prove their PTSD was work-related.
The new laws will apply for first responders.
Industrial Relations Minister Grace Grace said first responders faced some of Australia’s biggest challenges, including dealing with catastrophic bushfires, floods, child abuse, car crashes, horrific domestic violence incidents and COVID-19. ....
