Picture: JONACANI LALAKOBAU MAHATMA Gandhi Memorial High School (MGM) is trying to find its best form ahead of the Fiji Secondary Schools Athletics Association’s Cola-Cola Games. School principal Sanjay Raman said they would field 60 athletes in the Suva Zone Two competition and hopefully some of their athletes could qualify for the Coca-Cola Games. He said during the year, their students had been training with their special coaches. “This year since we still have this pandemic, we are adhering to the COVID-19 restrictions and that is why we have only asked our students to come to the ANZ Stadium and participate,” he said.

The 15-year-old clocked 9.15 minutes 18 Feb 2021 14:48 Avish Maharaj - Mahatma Gandhi Memorial High School 2021-04-08 Mahatma Gandhi Memorial High School will be banking on long distance runner Avish Maharaj to win their first gold medal at this year’s Coca-Cola Games. The 15-year-old clocked 9.15 minutes in the intermediate boys 1500m final during the school’s interhouse competition at the ANZ Stadium in Suva yesterday. With the win, Maharaj has set out his plans of running in his first ever Coca-Cola Games from April 22-24.
