New Delhi: In the ongoing investigation against a senior Indian Railways official who is accused of corruption, the Central Bureau of Investigation, on Tuesday, said it has further recovered more than Rs 2 crore.
The raids which started two days back has led to the recovery of Rs 4.43 crore in cash so far. During the probe, it was found that officials of a private firm, under the scanner, ABCI Infrastructure had hurriedly tried to conceal illegal cash when the searches started.

The Central Bureau of Investigation has recovered Rs 2.39 crore in the bribery case involving a Senior Railway Officer after searches at 21 locations, officials said.

NEW DELHI, Jan 17: The CBI has nabbed a senior Railway Engineering Service officer of 1985 batch along with two others in an alleged bribery case of Rs 1 crore, sources said on Sunday.
A CBI source said, The arrested railway officer has been identified as Mahendra Singh Chauhan and the amount has been recovered.
Chauhan is posted as Chief Administrative Officer (II) at the Maligaon Headquarters at Maligaon in Guwahati. The source said that Chauhan allegedly demanded the bribe to favour a private company connected to the NFR.
