Bengaluru, Jan 21 : The Karnataka State Lawn Tennis Association (KSLTA) has signed up with real estate entity - Tattvam Sustainable Life Spaces for a monthly event for junior players across the age groups of 12, 14 and 16. Aimed at talent identification, the players will now have a chance to compete in the AITA ranking tournaments every month this year in the Tattvam Junior Tour . Around 100 participants are expected to play in each of these events, especially designed for the players from the south zone. The first event on the Tattvam Junior Tour begins with the AITA U-12 Talent series at the KSLTA from January 25. As many as 75 players from Karnataka, Tamil Nadu, Andhra Pradesh and Telangana have registered for the event. ....
Mukteswar Dance Festival kicks off Bhubaneswar, Jan 14: Organised by Odisha Tourism, the three-day dance extravaganza of Mukteswar Dance Festival kicked off here Thursday amid much fanfare. In the opening act, Pandit A Maheswar Rao & Group presented Shiva Vandana with six Ragas and six stanzas. Directed by Rao, the song was an epic blend of melody and grace. Following the classical act, a spell bounding solo performance by famous dancer Meera Das enthralled one and all. Her first presentation was Mangalacharan in Shivastuti Puspanjali and later, she performed Pallavi choreographed by Late Guru Kelucharan Mohapatra. Pallavi was based on Raga Billahari and set on Tal ektali. Her last performance was based on Shabari from Ramayan. The music was composed by Pt Bhubaneswar Mishra. ....

Image Source: IANS News Bengaluru, Dec 31 : The Karnataka State Lawn Tennis Association (KSLTA) on Thursday announced a State Ranking Tour in a bid to provide players of all age groups maximum opportunities to play competitive tennis. The progress will be quantified by state ranking points and monthly rollover ranking system which will culminate in a year-ending State Championship. The Junior Tour will be held in five age groups (under-10, u-12, u-14, u-16, u-18) while the Pro Tour will have a men s and women s category. The system will also include five senior tennis players categories (35+, 45+, 55+, 65+ and 75+). Events for wheelchair tennis players will be held in the u-18, men s and women s categories respectively, said the KSLTA in a statement. ....
