Superbly crafted by Prince of Egypt and Brave helmer Brenda Chapman, Come Away makes for a wonderfully twee and fluffy family drama. It s the enchanting story of how Alice and Peter must stand by their parents the inspired combo of David Oyelowo and Angelina Jolie in the wake of their brother’s tragic death.
But Come Away also works as a harrowing, and borderline-terrifying, Gothic horror melodrama. It s a bleak-as-hell chronicle of Alice and Peter having to stand by their parents as Alice’s grief begins her unravelling and Peter’s chronic gambling addiction sets about destroying the family entirely. ....
