The Department of Public Works and Highways announced Wednesday that the road widening of the 2.61-kilometer section of the Manila North Road in Sta. Praxedes, Cagayan has been completed.
 
The improved portion of the road serves as a direct connector road between Cagayan Valley and the Ilocos region.
Under a  P65.46-million fund, the previously two-lane road has been improved into a four-lane road.
According to Public Works and Highways Secretary Mark Villar, this will allow for better inter-regional connectivity in the area.
“The road network upgraded by DPWH Cagayan 2nd District Engineering Office now helps in easing traffic congestion in the area while also providing a safer road to motorists traversing from Sta. Praxedes, Cagayan to Pagudpud, Ilocos Norte,” Villar said. ....
