3 adolescents sued for attempting to rape 5-year-old in Jashore

The parents of the three accused fled soon after the incident occurred in Palashi Pashchimpara yesterday afternoon.
The boys asked the girl to play with them but they took her to a nearby garden and tried to rape her, the victim s family alleged.
The trio left the scene immediately after a neighbour saw them and shouted.
Sub-inspector Golam Rasul, in-charge of Khodapara Police camp, said police found evidence of the incident when they visited the spot and talked to the victim and her relatives.

Hundreds of locals, including family members of the deceased Mamun Hasan, who was allegedly tortured to death by local members and his associates, have taken to the street today demanding justice.
They formed a human-chain at Sohrabmor-Chanchra Road at Manirampur upazila in Jashore at 10:00am where they demanded immediate arrest of the alleged masterminds.
Mamun s mother Sakina Begum, his father Moshiar Gazi and siblings attended the protest programme with placards. Many women took part in the programme with their children. ....

Three arrested over murder of madrasa student

Of them, three Lavlu Hossain, 25, Altaf Hossain, 30, and Sohag Hossain, 19 were arrested.
Mamun died while undergoing treatment at Manirampur Upazila Health Complex on Wednesday. His family alleged that his hands and feet were tied before he was beaten to death on Tuesday night.
The case statement said Mamun had left for his aunt s shop around 11:00pm that night, after having dinner with him family at home.
His friend Arman then took him to the bank of Harihar river, when a group of people came there, beat him and took him to a house in the village he resided in. There, his hands and feet were tied and he was beaten again till morning. ....

At least 34 people were injured in violence centering upcoming municipality polls in three districts since Tuesday evening.
