Training on disability data collection kicks off in Zimbabwe

In preparation for Zimbabwe’s National Census 2022, the Ministry of Public Service, Labour and Social Welfare’s Department of Disability Affairs supported a training for ZIMSTAT and key stakeholders to strengthen their capacities in disability data collection. The training, which was organised with the technical support from UNESCO and the United Nations Partnership on the Rights of Persons with Disabilities (UNPRPD) project, targeted ZIMSTAT staff, the drafting team and Technical Officers who will in turn train future Census Enumerators. This comes at a time when the country is currently in preparation for the National Census. The objective is to ensure the integration of disability data, thereby inclusive national statistics. ....

We'll Work For Food Security Reserves - ECOWAS | Social

The Ministers in charge of Agriculture and Food Security of ECOWAS Member States have resolved to work towards adequate food reserves at the local, national and regional levels to ensure food security in the subregion.
They would, therefore, mobilise and allocate significant resources to strengthen and expand community and private storages in the region to achieve Sustainable Development Goal Two: Eliminate Hunger, Achieve Food Security, Improve Nutrition, and Promote Sustainable Agriculture.
They noted that strategic food reserves are powerful instruments of resilience for grassroots communities, states and ECOWAS and contribute to the dignity and food sovereignty of the people of the Sahel and West Africa. ....

NNA - Caretaker Minister of the Displaced, Ghada Shreim, received this Friday the Executive Secretary of the United Nations Economic Commission for Western Asia (ESCWA), Rola Dashti, and her work team, as part of an acquaintance visit during which coordination between the ministry and the ESCWA were reviewed, with emphasis on the importance of what the Ministerial Technical Committee for Rural Development, headed by Minister Shreim, is doing.
It was agreed to communicate and cooperate in this regard, especially since the ESCWA goals mainly focus on achieving sustainable development in Lebanon and the Arab countries. ....
