Chandigarh [India], May 9 (ANI): The Chandigarh administration has been assigned total quota of 40 MT oxygen, which includes 20 MT oxygen exclusively for Post Graduate Institute of Medical Education and Research (PGIMER).
Explaining about the oxygen distribution to hospitals amid the COVID-19, Yashpal Garg, nodal officer for oxygen supplies in Chandigarh on Saturday, said the administration has been assigned a total quota of 40 MT oxygen, which includes 20 MT exclusively for the PGIMER.
Of the remaining 20 MT quota, 17 MT oxygen is given directly to GMCH-32, GMSH-16 and the dedicated hospital in Sector 48 while 3 MT is given to a private vendor in Dera Bassi to refill oxygen cylinders of all government and private hospitals. ....

CHANDIGARH: Despite appeals by farmers who took out protest marches against the weekend lockdown imposed by the state government, shopkeepers in Punjab kept their shops shut on Saturday.
Punjab s 32 farmer unions, protesting the Central farm laws, had announced to hold street protests against the lockdown in the state and had urged shopkeepers to defy the restrictions. ....

No liquor shops, hardware stores during lockdown, says Chandigarh administration

Chandigarh administration has refused to allow liquor shops and hardware stores to remain open in the union territory a decision that comes a day after Punjab government eased its restrictions a little to liquor vends, grocery stores and hardware shops to keep open during lockdown hours on weekdays.
“As directed by Hon ble High Court, data on availability of hospital beds will be uploaded daily on Chandigarh Administration website. A special oxygen helpline set up too, says UT advisor Manoj Parida said on Wednesday.
Chandigarh administration enforced a near total lockdown from 5 pm May 5 to 5 am on May 11. Non-essential shops have been ordered strictly to remain closed during these hours. Government offices must function at 50 per cent capacity while private offices must ensure remote working during this period. ....

CHANDIGARH: On the lines of Punjab and Haryana, the Chandigarh administration on Monday imposed additional Covid restrictions in the Union Territory (UT), which will be effective from 5pm on May 4 to 5am on May 11.
The daily night curfew from 6pm to 5am and weekend lockdown will remain continue. Except for essential item shops like milk, bread, vegetables, fruits, dairy products, eggs, meat, mobile repair, all other shops will remain closed.
In the review meeting, chaired by the UT administrator VP Singh Badnore, the restrictions imposed by Punjab and Haryana were discussed. ....
