Hyderabad: Almost 65 percent of all vaccines manufactured in India and exported around the world come from Hyderabad, Bharat Biotech Chairman, and Managing Director Dr. Krishna Ella said on Monday.
He said that there is no cluster like Hyderabad’s Genome Valley anywhere in the world which contributes such huge volumes.
He was speaking after receiving Genome Valley Excellence Award at the inaugural session of Bio Asia 2021, the 18th edition of Asia’s biggest life science and healthcare industry conference.
Dr Krishna Ella and Bharat Biotech’s Joint Managing Director Suchitra Ella received the award from Telangana’s Industry Minister K. T. Rama Rao. ....

Hyderabad: The city accounts for 65% of the worldwide vaccine supply and ‘it is well equipped to play a key role in battling any health crisis that humanity faces in the future’.
These were the words of Krishna Ella, CMD of Bharat Biotech International Ltd, according to a report in the
Times of India. He was speaking following awarded the Genome Valley Excellence Award for this year at the first session of the BioAsia 2021 summit. The programme, organised by the state government, is one of the biggest meetings of life sciences companies and scholars in India. ....

HYDERABAD: It and Industries Minister KT Rama Rao on Monday announced that the State government is partnering with US-based Cytiva to create a B-Hub (Biopharma Hub) in order to develop biopharmaceutical medicines. Giving an overview of the future of Hyderabad’s life sciences sector, while presenting the Genome Valley Excellence Award to Bharat Biotech, he said: “The State government is partnering with Cytiva to establish a biopharma scale up facility called B-Hub.
As you all know that eight of the 10 top selling medicines are biopharmaceuticals.”“While there exist formidable capabilities in chemical drugs in the country, B-Hub will help Telangana and India in accelerating in this sector,” he added. ....
