A plan for 2021: I get by with a little help from my books

My favorite book at the start of a new year is usually a big, blank sketchbook, which I call the Big Picture Journal. On its pages, as one year turns to the next, I write what I plan to do in the months ahead.
Funny that.
When I looked back at my “20 Things To Do in 2020,” a pandemic called COVID-19 had happened. Niece’s college graduation in Waco? Canceled. Cousin’s wedding? Postponed. Spring break visit by the kids and grandkids? Moved to summer. Then to Labor Day. Then put off indefinitely. Library talk on the Jersey shore? Moved online. And on and on. ....
