Mayor in Spain Removes Cross From Convent, Throws it in Dump

ROSARIO, Argentina (Crux) The mayor of a small town in southern Spain forcibly removed a cross from the doors of a convent. The crucifix was then found in a garbage dump.
The events took place last week in the town of Aguilar de la Frontera, in the Diocese of Cordoba, in the Andalusia region in southern Spain.
The cross was located at the entrance of the church that belongs to the adjoining convent of the Discalced Carmelites, and had been there since 1939. It was erected to honor the Nationalist victims of Spain’s civil war, although the plaque noting this had long been removed in respect of all the victims of Nationalist leader General Francisco Franco. ....

Spain's Sevilla suspends Holy Week 2021 whilst Malaga and Cordoba wait until after New Year to make a decision

SEVILLA has officially suspended the celebration of its Holy Week in 2021 for the second consecutive year due to the pandemic.
The Archbishop of Sevilla, Monsignor Juan José Asenjo, has signed a decree suspending all processions in Sevilla during Easter Week 2021 due to the coronavirus pandemic.
The decree was signed on Monday and states that all events and celebrations organised by parishes, brotherhoods and confraternities or other ecclesiastical groups in which public space is used, are suspended.
