MOH acts on hospital bed issue


KUALA LUMPUR: The current usage of patient beds, including repurposed beds in hospitals, in the Klang Valley has now reached more than 85%, says Health Minister Datuk Seri Dr Adham Baba.
He said that by taking into account the need for extra beds, especially in the intensive care unit (ICU), the Health Ministry would implement several immediate measures to address the unexpected high referral rate to the ministry’s hospitals in the Klang Valley.
Among the steps that will be implemented immediately is to further expand the outsourcing of non-Covid-19 patients to private hospitals to enable Hospital Kuala Lumpur (HKL) to treat more Covid-19 patients. ....

KUALA LUMPUR: The current usage of patient beds, including repurpose beds in hospitals in the Klang Valley, has now reached more than 85 percent, said Health Minister Datuk Seri Dr Adham Baba (pix).
He said by taking into account the need for extra beds, especially in the Intensive Care Unit (ICU), the Ministry of Health (MOH) would implement several immediate measures to address the unexpected high referral rate to the ministry’s hospitals in the Klang Valley.

Kuala Lumpur: With just three days to go before phase two of the National Covid-19 Immunisation Programme begins, the Labuan vaccination committee has gone full swing in its preparations for the exercise.
At least three vaccination centres are all set to receive the 27,000 people targeted to be vaccinated under phase two, which is for people aged 60 and above, vulnerable groups with comorbidities as well as persons with disabilities (PwD). ....

LABUAN: The second batch of 600 doses of Sinovac’s Covid-19 vaccine from Kuala Lumpur arrived at the Labuan Airport Thursday, for use in phase two of the island’s vaccination programme.
Labuan Covid-19 Immunisation Task Force (CITF) chairman Rithuan Ismail said the committee is requesting the government to start Labuan’s phase two vaccination earlier than the scheduled April 19.
“We hope we can kick off phase two of the vaccination exercise earlier than the schedule,” he told Bernama.

Meanwhile, Labuan Health Department director Dr Ismuni Bohari said phase two of the vaccination programme would involve an estimated 27,000 people including the second layer of frontliners. ....
