KUALA LUMPUR: Feeling relieved and satisfied were among the reactions of vaccine recipients on the first day of operation of the vaccination centre (PPV) at the Malaysian Association for the Blind (MAB) Complex in Brickfields, here, today.
Generally, the individuals thought the vaccination process at the PPV, which was specifically for the visually impaired, was smooth, easy and orderly.
Sharing his experience, Mohd Nizam Abdul Majid, 31, who was among the 200 vaccine recipients at the PPV said he felt excited about receiving the first dose.
“From the outset, everything went smoothly and we were called on time for the vaccination and were briefed before receiving the jab. ....

Rina Harun: Fewer than half of eligible OKU have registered for Covid-19 vaccination

The Women, Family and Community Development Minister said that as of May 31, a total of 195,395 OKU had registered via the application.
She added that approximately 577,000 OKU are registered with the Social Welfare Department, with 446,000 above the age of 18 and therefore eligible to be vaccinated.
Rina said the department had submitted 446,000 names to the Health Ministry for the vaccinations.
We don t want anyone to be left behind, she told reporters on Friday (June 4) after visiting the Malaysian Association for the Blind (MAB), where a vaccination centre (PPV) has been set up.
The centre is the first dedicated one for OKUs and can handle up to 200 vaccinations a day for the blind and their caregivers. ....
