Toyo Engineering has secured a JPY240bn ($2.32bn) contract from PRPC Refinery and Cracker, a subsidiary of Petronas, to provide services for a steam cracker complex at Pengerang in Johor, Malaysia.
A consortium comprising Toyo-Japan and Toyo-Malaysia will manage the contract.
Toyo will provide services for an ethylene production plant, pyrolysis gasoline plant, butadiene extraction plant, benzene separation plant, MTBE production plant, and utility and offsite facilities.
Planned to be built at Petronas’ refinery and petrochemicals integrated development (RAPID) project, the steam cracker complex is expected to be completed in the middle of 2019.
