On doubles Court 3, Mackenzy Middlebrooks and Makayla Mills jumped out to a 4-3 lead before the Tigers dropped decisions on Courts 1 and 2 to give the Demon Deacons the first point of the match. In singles, Jenna Thompson earned a first-set victory over Anna Campana, 6-4. Campana forced a third set, however, Thompson held on to win 6-4, 2-6, 10-5. The Tigers’ (2-0, 0-0 ACC) win against the Cougars (0-1, 0-0 CAA) advances Clemson to 28-1 all time against College of Charleston, marking the most wins by Clemson against any non-conference opponent. While College of Charleston went up early by taking the doubles point, Clemson was able to come back and sweep singles to clinch the match, 6-1.
