Punjab Finance Minister, Makhdoom Hashim Javan Bakht, says the financial year (FY) 2021-22 will be the year of economic rehabilitation.
Chairing a pre-budget consultative meeting with leading economists under the Sub-National Governance Program in Lahore on Wednesday, he said that Universal Health Coverage Program would ensure a healthy society, and the special development package for the industrial sector would ensure economic recovery.
The provincial minister said that to increase agricultural production, the provision of services in the relevant sectors would be improved. LAHORE, May 6 (Gwadar Pro) - Finance Minister of Punjab, Pakistan Makhdoom Hashim Javan Bakht said on Wednesday afternoon that the province’s agriculture sector was being groomed with the help of Iron Brother China.

Chairing a pre-budget consultative meeting with leading economists under the Sub-National Governance Programme (SNG) here, the minister said the government had sought Chinese technology to improve the agriculture sector and Beijing was generously cooperating.

“The development of agro-related industries would also be an important part of the future development agenda and providing social security would also be the top priority of the Punjab government in the next budget,” he said, according to an official statement. A digital policy is being introduced in Punjab for the first time under which the digital economy, information and communication industry and e-governance will be promoted in the province with the help of Punjab Information Technology Board (PITB).
These views were expressed by Punjab Finance Minister Makhdoom Hashim Javan Bakht while presiding over a meeting to review performance PITB organised by the Chief Minister’s Special Monitoring Unit.
The minister said the modern monitoring system would help discourage corruption opportunities and improvement in service delivery. “Modern technology is being used to facilitate the citizens. The e-Pay, Baldia Online, Qeemat Punjab, Police Khidmat Markaz, e-Khidmat Centre, Citizen Feedback Monitoring Programme and e-Libraries are already functioning,” he remark ....
