LAHORE:Around 82 patients died from COVID-19 while another 1,995 new cases were confirmed in Punjab during the last 24 hours.
Of these 82 deaths, 37 were reported from Lahore alone taking the total number of COVID-19 related deaths to 3,649 in the district alone. According to report issued by Primary and Secondary Healthcare (P&SH) Department Punjab on Friday, the death toll reached 8,891 in Punjab, while confirmed cases became 314,517 in the province.
3,924 FIRs registered: Lahore Police under the Punjab Infectious Diseases (Prevention and Control) Act 2020 registered 3924 FIRs during one month and 10 days against different corona SOPs violations. ....

LAHORE: The city and police authorities seem selective in taking action against traders by allegedly ignoring the markets in major housing societies or in elite areas.
Most food outlets, shops and other business points are being run round the clock at Johar Town, Wapda Town, Valencia Town, Lake City, Bahria Town and many parts of Defence Housing Authority (DHA). There are a number of housing societies alongside Raiwind Road and Ferozepur Road where the traders and businessmen are partially implementing the Covid guidelines.

DC's notification for takeover of 15 roads suspended - Newspaper

LAHORE: The government has suspended the notification of taking over building control of 15 prime roads in the city district by the deputy commissioner-led high level design committee reportedly over the concerns shown by the Association of Builders and Developers (ABAD) of Pakistan.
The association had written a complaint to Prime Minister Imran Khan against the notification.
“On Jan 23, Deputy Commissioner Mudassir Riaz Malik had issued a notification, declaring 15 city roads to be part of the areas controlled by design committee. However, the notification was suspended after the PM took notice of ABAD’s complaint to him that had termed the move against the spirit of facilitating business something on the priority list of the government,” an official source told Dawn on Thursday. ....
