Since then, he and his wife, who also tested positive, had been isolating themselves at home. On Wednesday morning, when Mr. Prasad’s oxygen saturation levels were dropping, he contacted the Bruhat Bengaluru Mahanagara Palike (BBMP) control room seeking a bed in a hospital. State Covid War room chief V Ponnuraj said that there is a nexus between a few private labs and hospitals who bypass the system to test privately and communicate results privately to the citizens. This could be to lure the patients who get a positive result to hospitals they have an interest in.
