Tata Steel Long Products reports Q4 PAT at Rs 340 cr

On a consolidated basis, Tata Steel Long Products reported a net profit of Rs 339.86 crore in Q4 March 2021 compared with net loss of Rs 133.23 crore in Q4 March 2020.
Consolidated revenue from operations surged 53.40% to Rs 1,546.74 crore in Q4 March 2021 over Q4 March 2020.
The company s total expense was reported at Rs 1,179 crore during Q4 FY21, higher than Rs 1,026 crore in the same period last year. Pre-tax profit stood at Rs 383.18 crore in Q4 FY21 compared with pre-tax loss of Rs 132.48 crore in Q4 FY20.
The board recommended a dividend of Rs 5 per equity share for the financial year ended 31 March 2021. The Q4 result was declared after market hours yesterday, 20 April 2021. ....

Covid-19: Maharashtra Ambulance service receives over 9,000 calls daily

With the number of fresh COVID-19 cases surging on a daily basis, the Maharashtra Emergency Medical Services in Pune has been receiving over 9,000 calls per day for ambulances.
Control Room Manager Dr Pravin Sadhale told ANI, We take 9,000-10,000 calls per day, including COVID emergencies and others. Panic has increased now.
The Manager added that around 937 ambulances are placed across Maharashtra. The ambulances have all the safety gears including PPE kits for shifting the patients.
The earlier call flow was for accident and pregnancy cases now the more cases are for COVID-19 related symptoms. We do have other calls also but they are relatively less, Sadhale said. ....

Nifty April futures trade at discount

NSE VIX slips 0.26% to 22.43
The Nifty April 2021 futures were at 14,290, at a discount of 6.4 points compared with Nifty s spot closing of 14,296.40.
Turnover on the National Stock Exchange s futures & options (F&O) segment was Rs 41.71 lakh crore compared with Rs 30.83 lakh crore in the previous session.
In the cash market, the Nifty 50 index lost 63.05 points or 0.44% to 14,296.40.
The NSE s India VIX, a gauge of market s expectation of volatility over the near term, shed 0.26% to 22.43.
Tata Steel, Jindal Steel & Power and Tata Motors were the top traded stock futures contracts in F&O segment for April expiry.
The April F&O contracts will expire on 29 April 2021. ....

Covid-19: India logs 2,73,810 coronavirus cases in single day, 1,619 deaths

India s total tally of COVID-19 cases crossed 1.50 crorewith a record single-day rise of2,73,810new coronavirus infections,while the active cases surpassed the 19-lakh mark,according to the Union Health Ministry data updated on Monday.
The total tally of COVID-19 cases mounted to 1,50,61,919 and the death toll increased to 1,78,769with a record 1,619 daily new fatalities,the data updated at 8 am showed.
Registering a steady increase for the 40th day in a row, the active cases have increased to19,29,329comprising 12.81per cent of the total infections, while the national COVID-19 recovery rate has dropped to 86 per cent.
Thenumber of people who have recuperated from the disease surged to 1,29,53,821,while the case fatality rate has further dropped to 1.19 per cent, the data stated. ....
