Lions Clubs International coming to Trussville area

TRUSSVILLE A new Lions Club is being formed in Trussville. Organizers are canvassing the area in the search for service-minded individuals interested in joining the cause.
The effort to form the new club is being led by Lions District Governor Robert Thompson, of the Prattville Lions Club, and his Membership Growth Team. Additional support is being provided by the Margaret Lions Club. Locally, Lion Pedro Pino has committed to lead the effort within the area to make a Trussville area Lions Club become a reality.
Lions Clubs International is the world’s largest Service club organization with over 1.4 million members in more than 48,000 clubs in over 200 Countries. The Lions’ motto is “We Serve”. ....

Margaret Lions Club presents Heart of a Lion Award

MARGARET Every year the Margaret Lions Club recognizes members of the community, who go above and beyond to serve the needs of others.
This year, the club has chosen two individuals for their unselfish service to the needs of students at Margaret Elementary School, a member of the St. Clair County system.
Club secretary Pedro M. Pino, Sr. says Margaret Elementary School counselor Carrie Murray Tucker has been presented with the Heart of a Lion Award for her unselfish service to the needs of her students and the community.
Pino also says Jessie Tyler, manager of Dollar General in Margaret, has been recognized as a Heart of a Lion Award recipient for being a passionate supporter of the students at Margaret Elementary School and the Margaret Lions Club. ....
