Single identifier number for all domestic taxes launched - Newspaper

ISLAMABAD: The Federal Board of Revenue (FBR) has launched a single identifier number for all domestic taxes.
An official announcement said that under this initiative a taxpayer can use all applications under the Income Tax, Sales Tax and Federal Excise Duty by mere use of the Computerised National Identity Card if he/she is an individual.
In case of partnership firms and companies, the National Tax Number (NTN) shall be the common tax identifier number. In this manner the Sales Tax, Income Tax and Federal Excise laws have been harmonised. This is an important step towards ease of doing business and it will substantially improve Pakistan’s rating on this count. ....

Awareness session about digital banking held for traders - Newspaper

QUETTA: Two senior officials of the State Bank of Pakistan (SBP) in Quetta have said that it has now become easier for the people involved in the industry and trade to deposit their taxes through digital banking.
SBP assistant chief managers Mohammad Younis and Sohaib Qadir were speaking at an awareness session regarding digital banking and other issues organised for members of the Quetta Chamber of Commerce & Industry (QCCI).
QCCI members Haji Abdullah Achakzai, Salahuddin Khilji, Syed Abdul Rehman Shah Agha, Haji Janan Achakzai and Hidayatullah and some other SBP officials were present on the occasion.
Briefing the officials and the QCCI members during the awareness session, Mr Qadir said that the government always introduced new schemes to facilitate the people and the business community, like it introduced the Alternate Delivery Channel (ADC) in 2019. ....
