1,000 jobs every month in civil, military services RECRUITMENT AT SAF BEGINS TODAY SHARE MUSCAT: The government is pressing ahead with its Appointment and Replacement Programme , which generates as many as 12,000 jobs for Omanis as specified in the “Employment Plan 2021”, said a government official on Tuesday, noting that the placements will be made at a rate of 1,000 jobs a month, till the end of this year, in the government sector’s civil and military services. In implementation of the Royal directives of His Majesty Sultan Haitham bin Tarik, the Supreme Commander, on expediting the execution of employment initiatives, the Ministry of Defence will today begin to receive job-seekers who meet conditions set for recruitment at the Sultan’s Armed Forces (SAF). The jobs will be announced in succession by the Royal Army of Oman, the Royal Air Force of Oman, the Royal Navy of Oman and other administrations of the Defence Ministry. ....
Chennai, 3 May 2021: A 34-year-old patient infected with COVID-19 and poor lung function has received a new lease of life with ECMO (Extracorporeal Membrane Oxygenation) at Fortis Hospital, Vadapalani. ECMO can prove to be an effective treatment solution in these challenging times for patients with weak lung function and this has been demonstrated by Dr Govini Balasubramani, Head, CTVS, Heart and Lung Transplant, Fortis Vadapalani and his medical team of cardiothoracic surgeons, pulmonologists and intensive care specialists. The patient, Mr. Hameem (name withheld for privacy), a tailor by profession, was diagnosed with COVID- 19 in 2019. Although he successfully fought the infection, he suffered a bout of pneumonia in September 2020. His lungs were compromised and required ventilator support for survival. Dubai: A team of physicians from Al Jalila Children’s Specialty Hospital (Al Jalila Children’s), Mohammed Bin Rashid University of Medicine and Health Sciences (MBRU) and Mediclinic Middle East have successfully carried out the first pediatric kidney transplant from a live donor in the UAE on a 16-year-old boy suffering from end-stage kidney. The surgery was funded by Al Jalila Foundation, a not-for-profit organisation dedicated to transforming lives through medical research, education and treatment in the UAE. In a special letter sent to the patient, His Highness Sheikh Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum, Vice President and Prime Minister of the UAE and Ruler of Dubai told Pritvik Sinhadc that the UAE is his home and that he would receive the best care possible.
