LAKKI MARWAT: The district administration’s efforts to convince elders of Janikhel tribe to end agitation and bury the slain tribal chief Malik Naseeb Khan proved futile on Sunday as the tribesmen vowed to continue the sit-in until the killers were arrested. A government team headed by Wazir tribal subdivision assistant commissioner held talks with the elders in the Janikhel area to pursue them to end the sit-in, said an official. Unknown gunmen had shot dead Malik Naseeb in Zindi Alikhel area of Janikhel on May 31. The killing sparked protests in the town as the tribesmen and relatives of the slain elder placed the body outside the police station building. The protesters demanded arrest of the killers and implementation of a peace agreement the government had signed with tribal elders in March. ....

They said that ANP would show its political strength in the public meeting of Pakistan Democratic Movement in Bannu on January 6. They said that ANP workers would gather in Naurang town from where they would set out for Bannu in a big rally. The local chapter of ANP held a meeting held at the party’s office in Naurang the other day with district president Malik Ali Sarwar Khan in the chair to assign duties to workers about the PDM rally. ....
Lakki ANP to show strength in PDM’s Bannu gathering Peshawar January 2, 2021 LAKKI MARWAT: The district chapter of Awami National Party will show its political strength in the Pakistan Democratic Movement’s public meeting in Bannu on Jan 6. The decision to this effect was taken at a meeting held at the party’s office in Serai Naurang on Friday. District President Malik Ali Sarwar Khan chaired the meeting which was attended by party activists and office bearers and workers of PkSF, Malgari Wakeelan, Malgari Ustazan and Malgari Leekwaal. Speaking in the meeting, Malik Ali Sarwar said that the party activists would gather in Serai Naurang from where they would set out to Bannu in a big rally. He assigned certain responsibilities to party leaders and told them to mobilise party workers and people from all walks of life for mass participation in the public meeting. ....
