10,811 victims rescued during Eid days: Rescue 1122

LAHORE: Rescue 1122 rescued 10,811 emergency victims in 11259 emergencies in all districts of Punjab during Eid holidays from 20 to 22nd July 2021.
The data revealed that the Rescue Service responded to 3898 road traffic crashes in which 32 precious lives were lost in these holidays. The highest number of road traffic crashes, 1532 were managed by the Rescue Service on the second day of Eid.
During an online meeting with District Emergency Officers (DEOs) DG PESD reviewed emergency data and discussed major emergencies in detail. The Emergency Ambulance, Rescue and Fire Services responded to 3898 emergencies of road traffic crashes, 5307 medical emergencies, 293 crime incidents, 179 fire incidents, 31 drowning, 372 delivery cases and 1179 other emergencies such as fall from a height, electric shock, burn cases and occupational injuries. ....

St Thomas Member of Parliament Cynthia Forde wants distinguished businessman Sir Charles Williams to come to the aide of frustrated residents of some St Thomas districts who are being “cut off” from much-needed assistance when there’s a storm or other natural disaster.
In an interview on Friday, Forde revealed that a paddock of river tamarind trees at the Canefield Plantation, owned by Williams, has been continuously blocking the road to Airy Cot, St Thomas when high winds knock down the trees, leaving the road impassible. ....
