Humboldt and District Community Services to receive money from this year's Fuel Good Day

“We are ‘pumped’ by this news,” the organization said on Facebook.
Brent Walker, the co-op’s general manager, said the co-op’s staff members reviewed all the applications and voted for the organization that resonated with them the most. He said it was great that the Humboldt and District Community Services was selected.
“Through COVID I would imagine that they have a little bit more of a need and I think that’s great for the community to be able to make another good donation for them.”
This is the event’s fifth year. In the past four years, the average amount raised was almost $2,300. Last year, more than $2,500 was raised for Futuristic Industries. Nationwide, Fuel Good Day has raised $2.4 million for more than 600 recipient organizations since 2017. ....

Ankors tested the light pink powder substance and found high concentrations of Fentanyl and Benzodiazepines.
“High risk of overdose with prolonged sedation, may not respond to Naloxone, continue to give breaths and seek medical attention,” said Interior Health.
Ankors has offered the following tips and guidelines to protect the public:
Get your drugs checked
Avoid using drugs and alcohol together
Don’t use alone
Start with a small amount
Go slow
Call 911 immediately if something doesn’t feel right
Give rescue breaths and Naloxone if someone has decreased breathing or other signs of an overdose ....
