New Delhi, Jan 30: The Centre on Saturday asked states and Union Territories to augment coverage of beneficiaries receiving vaccination against COVID-19 and increase as well as optimise inoculation sessions per day.

The states and UTs have also been asked to start vaccinating frontline workers from the first week of February, the Union Health ministry said in a statement.
This was done during a review meeting chaired by Union Health Secretary Rajesh Bhushan.
While some states and UTs have more than 50 per cent coverage, they were all advised to improve the percentage coverage of vaccinated beneficiaries as there are many states and UTs that need to improve their performance on this parameter, the statement said. ....

New Delhi [India], January 20 (ANI): After witnessing certain glitches in the Co-WIN software platform dedicated to monitoring real-time management of Covid-19 vaccination across the country, the Union Health Ministry is now enhancing the technology by adding a new feature of Allot Beneficiary in the software platform.
Manohar Agnani, Additional Secretary at the Union Health Ministry said, A new feature of Allot beneficiary in Ongoing session is being added. This will allow maximum possible number of beneficiaries per session and to have better coverage.
The new feature will also pre-register beneficiary in the database to the session as additional beneficiary over and above the scheduled number of beneficiaries, said Agnani while addressing a press conference on Covid-19 vaccination in the country. ....

New Delhi [India], January 1 (ANI): Union Health Minister Harsh Vardhan on Friday chaired a high-level meeting to review preparedness at session sites across the country for COVID-19 vaccination trial run on Saturday and said just like preparations during elections, each member of medical teams should be trained responsibly.
The minister urged every official to ensure that the vaccination sites and officials in-charge abide by the detailed checklist and SOP for vaccination that has been prepared by the Union Health Ministry. ....
