R. Kelly is still awaiting trial for several sex crimes and he won’t be getting any royalties as he awaits his fate.
Judge Patrick Heneghan of Cook County ordered that Kelly’s record label, Sony Records, pay back the rent Kelly owes to Midwest Commercial Funding.
R. Kelly owes Midwest Commercial Funding $1.5 million and now the sum will be paid by the royalties he’s accrued with whatever is leftover going to a victim who is owed $4 million from a 2019 judgment.
R. Kelly claimed he was broke, however, a secret bank account was found with over a million dollars in it. Kelly had opened the account using one of his attorneys three months before going to jail. ....
