Jamshedpur: The Jamshedpur chapter of the Indian Medical Association (IMA) has launched a free tele-consultation facility for Covid patients in home isolation. Persons who are suffering from Covid or Covid-like symptoms can call a set of doctors on their mobile phones and seek advice relating to their treatment. Notably, the free consultancy has been introduced on the request of the district administration. The IMA functionary said individual doctors would be allotted time slots, otherwise they will receive calls round the clock. “Patients will be able to consult a few doctors now. We hope to add more doctors to the list soon,” the president of the Jamshedpur chapter of the IMA, Umesh Khan, said. ....

The second wave of the pandemic has triggered a spurt in the need for oxygen, with healthcare facilities crumbling under the weight of the steep demand while the common people run from pillar to post trying to arrange a cylinder for their infected family members. Till date, the district has reported 25,730 cases, 20,518 recoveries, 467 deaths while the active caseload is 4,745. ....
Ranchi/Jamshedpur: Amid rising cases of Covid-19 in various parts of the country, state health officials have asked the disaster managementg department to make a negative Covid report mandatory for people coming from Maharashtra and Kerala and test travelers at all entry points of state. Meanwhile, East Singhbhum district has also increased surveillance and mandatory for passengers coming by train from Maharashtra, New Delhi and Gujarat to the Tatanagar station to get tested for Covid on arrival. In a letter to disaster management department on Tuesday evening, state health secretary K K Soan urged the department secretary to issue necessary directives for necessary action as per rules. The letter said the request was was made to ensure that the spike in Covid cases in these states, particularly Maharashtra and Kerala, does not lead to a spurt in infections in Jharkhand. ....
