Wearing of face shield now mandatory in Baguio

BAGUIO CITY– The city government has amended its ordinance requiring the mandatory wearing not only of face masks but face shields outside their homes.
Aileen Refuerzo, Public Information Office chief, said Saturday the city’s legislative body approved on final reading Ordinance No. 49, Series of 2021, which amended Ordinance No. 45-2020 or the Face Mask Ordinance of Baguio City by incorporating the face shield requirement.
“The city government will enforce the Face Mask and Face Shield Ordinance of 2021 following completion of its amendment process,” Refuerzo said.
The measure, she added, declares that it is “unlawful” for all persons, including tourists and outsiders, to go to public places, buildings, national roads or highway, sidewalks, walkways, or public conveyances or other similar establishments without wearing face mask and face shield until the threat of the COVID-19 is completely eliminated in the country. ....

COLUMBIA, S.C. (WIS) - The Columbia City Council reaffirmed its COVID-19 mask ordinance.
On Tuesday, council members unanimously voted to extend the city’s existing mask ordinance for 60 days through May 15. The ordinance does not include any of the strengthened measures that were considered in February.
District 4 Councilmember and Mayoral Candidate Daniel Rickenmann motioned to reduce the ordinance length to 30 days but failed to get a second.
At-large Councilmember Howard Duvall said the council can end the ordinance when it wishes and could do so if the data continues to approve. ....

Tim Yap, KC Concepcion, and other participants have paid penalties for violating health protocols at Yap s birthday party, held at The Manor at Camp John Hay in Baguio City on January 17.
In a Facebook post on Friday, January 29, the Baguio City Public Information Office (PIO) said that 33 participants including Yap, Concepcion, and Baguio City Mayor Benjamin Magalong s wife Arlene have each paid fines of P1,000 for violating Baguio s Face Mask Ordinance, and P500 for violating the city s Physical Distancing Ordinance.
The venue itself also paid a penalty of P9,000 – P1,000 for violating the Face Mask Ordinance, P3,000 for violating the Physical Distancing Ordinance, and P5,000 for violating the city s ordinance for New Normal Operations for Business Establishments. ....
