Police detain truck drivers involved in fatal accidents in Mundri
The police in Mundri West County of Western Equatoria State is holding two drivers involved in two separate accidents in which two people died while three others sustained injuries.
According to the police, the two drivers hit two people dead in Ketiba Payam and Mundri West 1 on Tuesday, February 23.
Speaking to Radio Tamazuj, Lt. Double Seven Clement, a police officer in charge of legal affairs in Mundri West, says the two drivers are in custody waiting for trial.
We have a principle that when the victim is under treatment till the person recovers, then the victim will make a statement and then we send the case to the court for final judgment so all the drivers are kept with us here in the police in Mundri, he said. ....

Mundri West police investigating murder case
Police authorities in Mundri West County of Western Equatoria said they have launched investigations into the killing of a man in Lozoho Payam recently.
Last week, one person was reported killed while he was fishing in Lozoho Payam, located about 30 miles away from Mundri town.
Lt. Double Seven Clement, a police officer in charge of legal affairs in Mundri West, told Radio Tamazuj on Thursday that they were holding two suspects in connection with the murder.
“These two suspects are in the custody and are now under investigations. They will appear before a court of law soon,” Clement said. ....

A man only identified as Benson was shot and injured in the leg by a prison officer for riding a bike while the South Sudanese flag was being lowered in Mundri West County of Western Equatoria State.
Speaking to the media, the Mundri West County police criminal investigations officer, Lt. Doubleseven De Clement, said the victim was stopped several times but did not heed before he was shot by a prison officer in the leg. He added that the injured man was taken to Lui Hospital for treatment.
“Yesterday (Monday) at 6 pm someone was riding while the national flag was being lowered. One guy named Benson could not stop so one of the prison officers shot him in the leg but now the person has been taken to Lui Hospital. We are waiting for him, if he gets well the investigation will start and we shall establish if the person is deaf or what happened,” Lt. Clement said. ....
