Alzheimer Society Launches The Quest

The Alzheimer Society for Kenora-Rainy River on a Quest.
It’s a new online fundraising platform that’s been set up with the help of the provincial office.
Fund development coordinator Shyler Hendrickson says people are asked to register through Jointhequeset.ca to help raise money for the district agency.
“Once you do that you can set a personal fundraising goal and then you’ll be taken to your personal fundraising page and you’ll get a link URL and you can share that link URL where-ever you want,” explains Hendrickson.

Online Sessions Launched By Local Alzheimer Society

This is Alzheimer Awareness Month.
The Alzheimer Society for Kenora-Rainy River is promoting programs and services through a series of online sessions.
Client Services Coordinator Mary O’Conner says the first takes place Tuesday and focuses on visiting people with dementia.
“I am going to talk about the tips and tricks that people who are visiting need to know so you have a really great visit.”
She says proper words and communication are key.
O’Conner adds the first thing you need to do is introduce yourself and not assume they have known you forever.
