PUTRAJAYA: Former Federal Territories minister Datuk Seri Tengku Adnan Tengku Mansor has walked out a free man after the Court of Appeal here acquitted and discharged him from his RM2mil corruption case, although the prosecution intends to file an appeal.
His conviction and sentence – he was handed 12 months’ jail and a RM2mil fine – were set aside by the appellate court in a 2-1 majority decision here yesterday.
Deputy public prosecutor Asmah Musa told reporters that the prosecution would be filing an appeal with the Federal Court. ....

KUALA LUMPUR, Dec 22 ― Former Federal Territories minister Datuk Seri Tengku Adnan Mansor s conviction in a corruption trial yesterday will further restore public confidence in the country’s legal system, lawyers said.

KUALA LUMPUR, Dec 22 ― Former Federal Territories Minister Datuk Seri Tengku Adnan Tengku Mansor has filed an appeal against a 12-month jail sentence and fine of RM2 million imposed by the High Court yesterday after finding him guilty of accepting bribe of RM2 million from a businessman.
His lawyer, Datuk Tan Hock Chuan, when contacted by reporters, said the notice of appeal was filed yesterday through the online judicial system (e-filing). ....
